Appreciation post: my neighbor's garage sale changed how I cook
I was at a garage sale in my neighborhood last month and saw a pressure cooker for $5. I had never used one before but figured it was worth a try. I made a pot of black beans from scratch in under an hour, which used to take me all day. Now I make big batches of cheap dried beans every week. Anyone have other good pressure cooker recipes for cheap ingredients?

My first pressure cooker was a ten dollar find at a thrift store. I remember the shock of cooking a whole chicken for soup in about forty five minutes. The broth was so much richer than the slow cooker.

My old crockpot took eight hours for pulled pork. The pressure cooker does it in ninety minutes with cheaper cuts. Total game changer for weekend meal prep.

Garage sale pressure cookers are the gateway drug to cheap cooking. Next you'll be buying fifty pound sacks of rice and bulk chicken thighs. Welcome to the club.
