I finally tracked my coffee spending for a month and the number was wild
I always thought my daily coffee shop trip was just a small treat, maybe $5. I wrote down every single one for 30 days and it came to $187. That's more than my electric bill last month. It matters because that's money I could have put toward my car payment or savings. I know it's real because I have the receipts in an envelope on my desk. Has anyone else done a spending check on something small that added up fast?

Wow, have you checked if that includes the pastries you grab with your coffee?

Honestly, I didn't even write down the pastries, which is probably the whole problem. It was mostly just a muffin or croissant a few times a week. Do you think those little add-ons are what really kills a budget?

That's a great point about the pastries. Did you track those separately, or was the $187 just for the coffee drinks? I'm curious if you were buying basic black coffee or those fancy lattes, because the price difference there is huge.
