Looking back at my grocery receipts from 2019 is a real eye-opener

I used to spend about $180 a week for my family, but now I'm down to $120 just by planning meals and sticking to a list. Anyone else cut their food bill by a big chunk lately?

Switched to mostly store brands last year. The quality is basically the same for most things. Started buying spices in bulk from a local market too. That saved a ton. The real game changer was learning to make my own bread. Sounds small but it adds up fast. Feels good to beat the system a little bit.

Seriously, what's your bread recipe though, because @lisaf38 and I need the help.

How did I not realize my grocery cart was basically a luxury item? I tried the store brand thing like @emery19, but my first loaf of homemade bread could have been used as a doorstop. Still, even my sad attempts are cheaper than the fancy bakery stuff.
