My grocery bill was $47 under budget this week and it felt like a miracle

I live in a small town where prices keep going up, so I was shocked. I planned meals around chicken thighs and frozen veggies, and I used a $10 off coupon I found in the mail. It was the first time in months I didn't feel stressed at the checkout. What's the best deal you've found lately to cut your food costs?

Getting beat less badly" is still a win when you're just trying to make it to the next paycheck.

Ever notice how we're all just celebrating smaller losses now? Like, yeah, the chicken is cheaper, but my rent still went up $200. It's not winning, it's just slowing down how fast we're sinking.

How is that a miracle? Prices are still way too high. A coupon and cheap chicken just feels like getting beat less badly.
