Remember that time my fridge died mid-July? In Phoenix?

It was 115 outside. 115. My 20 year old fridge gave up on a Saturday. Stood there with a bag of melted ice cream and rotting chicken. Spent Sunday driving to five different stores for a used one on Facebook. Found a beat up unit for $150 and it's still running three summers later. Has anyone else had to scramble like that over something breaking?

Is losing a fridge really the end of the world, though?

Walked in on my fridge dead as a doornail with a puddle of milk on the floor and thought "well, at least it's not ALSO on fire." Sometimes the universe picks a real fun time for stuff to break.

Losing a fridge is the end of the world when it's 115 and you can't cool your food.
