Read an article about how writing by hand helps memory more than typing. @gavinlopez is right about the notebook. Something about the physical act of writing makes ideas stick better. I keep a small one in my bag now for random thoughts.

But what about when you're out and get an idea but your notebook is buried in your bag? Do you just drop everything to dig for it, or do you ever use your phone as a backup?
