Back in 2010, I kept all my property listings in a big binder and drove around with printed maps. Now it's all on my phone.

And I bet you never had to worry about the battery dying on that binder... or your maps app crashing right when you need to pull up a street view. I remember trying to read those highlighted paper maps in bad light, though. Honestly, the binder was probably safer than my phone, which I've definitely left on the roof of my car.

Paper maps blowing away is a real problem, but at least you could grab them. A phone slides right off and shatters. My binder lived in my car, so forgetting it wasn't an issue. The updates were a pain, but you learned the areas by heart instead of just staring at a screen.

Paper maps were definitely not safer from being left on a car roof. They'd just blow away into the street. At least a phone is a solid object that might stay put for a second. The real issue with the binder was trying to update it. Every price change or new listing meant reprinting pages, and that got expensive fast. My phone updates instantly, for free. Do you remember how much you spent on printer ink back then?
