PSA: I had to pick between calling something 'mid' or 'cooked' in a group chat and chose 'cooked'.
It got a laugh from two people, but my brother in Phoenix texted me 'that's so last month, man.' Has anyone else felt like these terms move too fast to keep up?

Honestly your brother is a little off base, cooked is still totally fine! These things don't have a hard expiration date. The real trick is just using the word that feels right for the moment, not chasing what's newest. If it got a laugh, you already won. Trying to keep up with every single trend is a losing game for sure.

Absolutely! My nephew tried to correct my slang last week and I just had to laugh. The moment you stress about being current, the fun is already gone.

Wait your nephew actually tried to correct your slang? That's wild to me. I mean kids these days have zero chill about this stuff. My little cousin does the same thing and it's like, relax, language is supposed to be fun. Getting hung up on the "right" word totally misses the point.
