Finally got my first dovetail joint to close up tight after three tries
I was in my garage shop and my chisel slipped, taking a huge chunk out of the pin board. I glued in a sliver of matching walnut and recut the whole thing, and you can barely see the fix. Anyone have a better trick for a clean salvage?

Coffee grounds and super glue? That sounds wild.

My buddy once filled a similar gouge with coffee grounds and super glue.

That's a great trick for dark wood. I've used instant coffee mixed into wood glue for the same kind of repair. It blends right in on oak or walnut. The grounds probably give it even better texture.
