My mitre saw tune up made a night and day difference in my miters
I was getting gaps on my crown molding for like a year and just figured it was my technique. Finally broke down and did a full tune up on my Hitachi C12RSH last month - replaced the brushes, cleaned the arbor, and squared the blade to the fence. The cuts came out so tight I didn't even need caulk on the last room I did. Has anyone else put off maintenance on their saw and then been shocked at how much better it works after?

Agreed completely on putting off maintenance. Honestly I let my DeWalt miter saw get all out of whack for like two years before I finally cleaned it up and squared everything. Ngl the difference was just as huge as you describe, I couldn't believe I had been fighting with it for so long when a simple tune up fixed everything. It really is one of those things where you don't realize how bad it got until you fix it. Tbh I almost enjoy using the saw now instead of dreading it.
