That time I compared a celeb's Instagram story vs their paid ad - night and day

I was scrolling and saw Kendall Jenner's raw story about her new tequila where she was just pouring a glass normal and talking, then 3 swipes later I got her polished ad with perfect lighting and a scripted caption. The raw story actually made me want to try it, the ad just felt like another billboard on my phone. Why do celebs bother paying for high production ads when their messy real posts get way more engagement?

Isn't that just the truth? The raw stuff feels real and relatable, the polished ads just bounce off me. I'd rather see someone's messy kitchen than a perfect studio setup any day.

Honestly, I used to be all about that polished, high-production stuff. But @lane.cameron, you're totally right, seeing a messy kitchen or a cluttered desk makes me trust the person so much more. It feels like they're not hiding anything, you know? Now I actually stop and watch those raw videos instead of scrolling past the ads. It changed my whole view on what good content looks like. Made me realize real always beats fake in the long run.

Lane said polished ads bounce off them but actually those polished ads still work on a lot of people, they just hit different than the raw stuff. Its not that one is better, they just serve two different purposes.
