Started composting at my school after seeing the cafeteria trash situation

I work at Lincoln Middle School and last month I finally weighed what we throw away after lunch - it was 47 pounds of food waste in one day. Everyone talks about individual changes like reusable straws but I think we're missing the bigger picture with institutions. Our 30-student composting program cut that by almost half in three weeks. Has anyone else had luck getting their workplace or school to start something similar?
