Can we talk about the time I realized I'd been storing my beans in the freezer for a year?

My friend from a roastery in Denver finally saw my kitchen setup and just quietly asked, 'You know that makes them taste like your leftover pizza, right?'

Freezing beans is fine for storage, but you have to let them thaw in the bag before opening it to keep moisture out.

Wait, you were just tossing the whole bag in the freezer and taking it out to scoop some? That's the big mistake. Like @bailey.anna said, you gotta thaw the whole bag sealed, otherwise you get all that frost and weird fridge taste. I keep mine in a mason jar in the freezer if I have to, but only for a short time. A whole year is gonna make any coffee taste like freezer burn, right?
