Ditched my fancy scale for a cheap scoop and I'm not going back
Used to weigh every single dose down to the gram, got all fussy about it around 2019 when I started pulling shots at home in Portland. One morning I just grabbed the plastic scoop from the bag and eyeballed it, now I dial in by taste and count seconds, and honestly my morning cup tastes better than half the cafes I used to visit. Anyone else ditch the gear and just go by feel?

fussy about it around 2019" hits home. My buddy did the exact same thing, weighed everything for years, then his scale died on a camping trip. He just used the scoop lid and honestly he said his shots tasted way smoother, never went back either. Weird how that works.
