Old timer at the supply yard in Phoenix told me to wet cure my driveway for 14 days straight

I did it for 10 and the thing still cracked along the edge, so now I wonder if going the full 14 would have saved me the headache, anyone else cut corners on curing time and regret it?

Hang on though, a hairline crack along the edge is pretty normal for a big slab of concrete, especially in Arizona heat. The real trick with wet curing is keeping it consistently damp the whole time, not just hitting the 14 day mark. If you let it dry out even for a few hours on day 8, you basically reset the clock on that edge stress. Cracking along the edge is more about the ground settling or not having a good expansion joint than missing four days of watering.

So you're telling me my 10 day water park for the concrete wasn't enough and I should have just thrown a pool party for two weeks straight?

Totally feel you on that. I did the same thing with my patio a few years back, thought 10 days was close enough and now I've got this little crack right by the house that drives me NUTS every time I look at it. The guy above is right though, the heat here is BRUTAL on fresh concrete and that edge stress is probably just from it drying out too fast.
