That time I tried a 24-hour water fast before a roof estimate and felt amazing
Last Tuesday I had a big roofing estimate to do on a hot day, and I normally get sluggish after lunch. So I skipped breakfast and lunch, just drank water from 6pm the night before until 6pm that day. I climbed up on the roof, measured everything, and felt sharp and clear-headed the whole time. No afternoon crash at all. Has anyone else tried fasting before a physical work day and noticed a difference?

My buddy tried this once before helping me move a bunch of furniture up three flights of stairs. He said he felt super clear headed for the first couple hours but then around hour 5 he got shaky and had to sit down for like 20 minutes. It worked okay for him but he said he wouldn't do it again on a hot day.

yo that's wild because i did something similar but not for work, i did a 24 hr fast before a long road trip once. normally i get super drowsy behind the wheel after eating, but i just drank coffee and water the whole drive. i was alert the entire 8 hours, no need to pull over or nap. but then i ate a huge burger afterward and felt like crap for two days lol. maybe there's something to it for physical stuff, but i'd rather eat light than full on fast.

My buddy tried this once before a concrete pour and said the same thing, he felt super dialed in... but then he got lightheaded halfway through and almost fell off the forms. I guess it depends on the person, because I'd probably pass out before lunch if I tried that on a roof.
