I ran a 20 ton Grove for a year, then switched to a 25 ton Tadano. The difference in the control feel is night and day.

Night and day" is a bit much. They're both cranes, they lift things. The controls are different, sure, but you get used to a new machine in a week. It's not that serious.

Tell me you've never run a tower crane without telling me. The feel is totally different. A tower sways, you're dealing with height and wind. A mobile crane is all about outriggers and ground pressure. It's like comparing a bicycle to a semi truck. Both get you there, but the job is not the same.
