The 'viral' sound I spent a week editing got 47 views
Last month, I spent six full days editing a short film to a trending audio clip, thinking it was a sure thing. I filmed everything in my local park, even got my friend Mark to act in it for free. Posted it, and it completely floored at 47 views after a week, while a video of a cat knocking over a plant with the same sound got millions. Has anyone else put in crazy work on something that just died on the platform?

Remember spending a whole weekend building a giant blanket fort just to film a dumb skit with my dog. The lighting was perfect, I edited in funny captions, the whole deal. It got maybe twelve views, and my mom was half of them. It really does feel random sometimes, like what @dylanmurray said about his recipe. You can pour your heart into something and the internet just shrugs, but a cat does one dumb thing and it's global news.

Yeah, that "internet just shrugs" feeling is so real. It's like the algorithm has a weird sense of humor, picking a random cat video over something someone actually tried on, like @dylanmurray's recipe. You can do everything right, but it's still a total lottery for what catches a wave.
