Wasted $150 on a fancy tablet stand that made my wrist hurt worse
I thought spending extra on that aluminum adjustable stand would fix my posture issues while drawing, but it actually angled my screen so high I ended up hunching over more. After 3 weeks I gave up and went back to a $12 stack of textbooks, which worked way better from the start. Anyone else wasted money on gear that made your setup worse instead of better?
That kneeling chair story is hilarious and painful at the same time. I did the exact same thing with a "gaming chair" that had a high back and built in lumbar support. Thing was like sitting on a concrete block after two hours, and the lumbar support just jabbed me in the wrong spot. Ended up selling it for 30 bucks on Craigslist and using my old wooden dining chair with a pillow instead.
My buddy Dave dropped like $200 on one of those ergonomic kneeling chairs thinking it would fix his back pain. He used it for maybe a week and his knees started killing him, plus he kept sliding off the thing. Ended up putting it in the garage next to his old rowing machine that never got used either. Took a loss selling it on OfferUp for 40 bucks and just went back to his regular dining chair with a cushion.
