Just realized my packing list is half what it was a year ago
I used to bring a full checked bag with a backup laptop and three pairs of shoes. After getting stuck with a huge fee in Lisbon, I switched to one 35L backpack with just my work laptop, two shirts, and a universal adapter. Has anyone else found a specific item you finally stopped carrying?

My buddy ditched his travel pillow after it exploded on a train.

That happened to my sister at the airport last year... total mess. She switched to a memory foam one and it's been solid. The cheap inflatable ones just can't handle the pressure changes, especially on planes or high altitude trains. I'd check the seams on any pillow before a trip now. It's worth spending a bit more to avoid that kind of surprise.
