Heard a neighbor in Mill Woods say they'd never use a reciprocating saw for demo again
Said a multi-tool with a scraper blade was way faster for pulling up old laminate. Tried it on my own kitchen floor last weekend and saved a ton of time on the cleanup. Anyone else find a better tool for a job you thought was already figured out?

Okay but "totally changed my mind on the right tool"? Is it that deep? It's just sanding a deck. You found a sander that didn't try to kill you, good job. Next week you'll probably go back to the big one for a different project and that'll be fine too. People act like they've found some holy grail when they just used a normal tool.

Oh man, that reminds me of my deck project! I was all set to rent a big floor sander, but a neighbor lent me a random orbital sander instead. It was way easier to control and did the job in half the time. Totally changed my mind on the "right" tool.

Been there. I borrowed my dad's belt sander for a patio chair and nearly launched it across the yard. The orbital just sits there and works without fighting you. Sometimes the smaller tool is the smarter move.
