Picked up a hot tip at a skincare conference in Austin last weekend
A speaker named Sarah showed me how she uses cool LED masks before extractions to reduce inflammation, and I tried it on my last three clients with way less redness. Has anyone else tried timing their LED sessions around extractions like that?

Gotta disagree a bit here. I've been using LED masks for years and I actually find they work better after extractions, not before. The blue light helps kill bacteria that gets stirred up from the extractions, and red light speeds up healing on those angry little spots (you know, the ones that always seem to get pissed off no matter how gentle you are). Tried doing it your way on a few clients last month and ended up with more redness than usual on two of them, which is weird because Sarah's logic makes sense on paper. Maybe it depends on skin type or how deep you're going with the extractions.

See, I've gotta push back on that "works better after extractions" idea because pre-treating with LED makes perfect sense if you think about it. The red light before extractions calms everything down so the angry spots are less reactive when you go in (I mean, isn't it better to prevent the redness than to try and fix it after?). Plus, if the blue light is killing bacteria before you even break the skin, you're not stirring up as much trouble in the first place, which (at least in my experience) leads to way less drama afterwards.
