Bought a cheap throttle body spacer online and it did nothing
I spent about $80 on a shiny aluminum spacer that promised 15 extra horsepower. It's just a paperweight now because it didn't change my truck's performance at all. Has anyone actually seen real gains from one of these things?

Calling them snake oil is a bit harsh... I got a slight bump in throttle response on my old Tacoma with one.

Yeah, those things are basically snake oil for your engine bay. They work on really old carbureted motors sometimes, but on any modern fuel injected vehicle, the computer just adjusts and cancels out any tiny change in airflow. You're better off putting that money towards a proper tune-up, clean your MAF sensor, stuff that actually makes a difference. Sorry you learned the hard way, we've all wasted cash on a shiny part that promised magic.
