That stat about 80% of reels getting zero likes really hit me

I was scrolling through some analytics blog last Tuesday and saw that 8 out of 10 Instagram Reels basically get no engagement at all. It made me rethink all those people selling courses on how to go viral. Maybe the whole short-form video thing is more of a lottery than a real skill. Has anyone else seen numbers like that and felt the hype is off?

Are those 80% just random people posting whatever, or does it include legit creators trying hard?

80% of people who try anything and give up after three videos shouldn't be counted in that stat. Watch what happens when you filter for accounts that post daily for six months straight, that number probably flips completely. The lottery angle is just an excuse people use when they don't want to admit their content is boring or poorly made. Viral skills are real, the algorithm just punishes lazy posting harder now.
