My aunt said my jacket looked like a sad couch and I can't unsee it now
I was working on this oversized corduroy blazer for a project last fall, really proud of the deep olive color and the big patch pockets. I showed my aunt a picture and she just goes, 'Oh honey, that fabric looks exactly like my old living room couch from 1992, the one we had to throw out after the dog got sick on it.' Lmao, it totally killed my vibe. I stared at it for a week and realized she was right, the texture and color combo did give off a weird, dated furniture feel. I ended up taking it apart, dyeing the corduroy a charcoal grey, and switching the pocket shape to something more angular. It completely changed the piece from 'vintage thrift' to something actually cool. Has anyone else had a piece totally wrecked by one piece of weirdly accurate feedback?

My buddy Mike made this cool geometric wall hanging from scrap wood. His girlfriend took one look and said it reminded her of a public bathroom floor tile pattern... he couldn't look at it the same after that.

Tell him to hang it in the bathroom, problem solved.

Why do people always ruin art like @felix_lane99's friend?
