Rant: That old school glue down trick backfired on me last Friday
Tried to save time on a vinyl plank job in a Phoenix condo. Used the old trick of heating the adhesive with a heat gun to speed up the set. Ended up with a huge bubble right in the middle of the main room. Had to cut it out and patch a whole new piece, cost me an extra hour. Anyone else have a quick fix go wrong like that?

Did grace508 mention how dry air can mess with the adhesive cure time?

Feel that heat gun pain. Did you try to heat a big area all at once, or were you just hitting one spot too long? I've seen guys get impatient and basically cook the adhesive in one place, which makes it fail everywhere else. Was the subfloor super dry from the Phoenix heat too, maybe sucking the moisture out too fast?
