Update: That glue down vinyl plank job I did in a basement last winter just failed
I installed about 800 square feet of that rigid core LVP in a finished basement back in January, glued it right to the slab. The homeowner insisted on saving money and didn't want to pay for a moisture barrier or self-leveler, said the floor felt fine to him. Fast forward to now, the whole center of the room is cupping and the planks are pulling apart at the seams. The slab was clearly holding moisture that we didn't test for. I'm eating the cost to redo it because my name is on the work, but man, it's a tough lesson. How do you guys handle clients who push back on proper prep when you know it's a risk? Do you just walk away from the job?
