Saw the wildest floor at a museum in St. Louis last week

It was this huge, modern art place, and the main gallery had a solid oak floor that was intentionally warped and curved up the walls. I couldn't stop staring at it, trying to figure out how they even installed it. Has anyone ever had to put in a floor that wasn't supposed to be flat?

Honestly I read they steam-bend the wood for floors like that.

Sounds like a lot of work for a floor.
