I never liked water-based poly until last week

I always thought oil-based finishes were the only way for a tough top coat. Then my local guild had a talk on new air quality rules. They showed how water-based options have improved a lot. I tried it on a pine bench I was doing for a cafe. It dried so fast and didn't smell bad at all. The finish is holding up really well with heavy use. Now I'm telling everyone to give it a shot.

I was wrong about leaving fat on my brisket

I always thought more fat meant better flavor and moisture. After seeing a pitmaster trim it close for bark development, I tried it myself. The bark got crisp and the meat cooked more evenly. Now I trim it lean every time.

Am I the only one who feels uneasy when family watches my sketchbook tours?

Many artists enjoy sharing sketchbook tours with family for support. But when my older brother watches, he always compares my work to his professional standards. I start to doubt my own style and progress. Now, I only share my tours with online artist friends. Family intentions are good, but their feedback can limit creative growth.

My buddy dared me to try the suicide wings and I did it

I ate all six wings without stopping, which is a first for me. The burn was real but worth it. What spicy challenges have you guys taken on lately?
