Used to bake my sourdough at 450 for 40 minutes flat, now I start at 500 with steam for 20, then drop it. Game changer.

That high heat blast with steam is key for oven spring. Drop to 450 after the initial 20, let it go another 25 or so. Makes the crust way better.

Had to pick between starting The Bear or Shrinking last night and went with The Bear, which had me hooked by the end of the first episode.

Oh man, you fell into the classic "just one more episode" trap with The Bear, didn't you? That show is a black hole for free time. Wilson.sam has a point about the real life kitchen disaster shows, but honestly, watching Gordon Ramsay yell at people for having a dirty fridge is just depressing after the artful chaos of The Bear. For that same "everything is falling apart but in a cool way" feeling, you need to watch the movie "Uncut Gems." It's just two hours of Adam Sandler making increasingly bad choices while everyone yells, and your heart tries to beat out of your chest. It's the same kind of stressful, can't-look-away energy.

I finally figured out how to test a smart plug's actual power draw without a kill-a-watt

Joseph's right about the scale being small for one plug. The real issue is when you have a whole house full of them. A smart plug here, a game console there, a few chargers left in the wall. It all sits there sipping power 24/7. That collective phantom load from maybe twenty different things is what actually moves the meter over a month. It's death by a thousand cuts, not one big slash.

Spent $400 on that 'pro' dent puller kit from Harbor Freight. Total junk.

Yeah, my buddy had that exact issue with his order, they sent him the wrong size twice.

Pro tip: Don't buy a $300 'pro' brush pack before checking your software settings

Honestly, that brush pack probably helped you focus on form and shape without pressure crutches. Some artists even turn sensitivity off on purpose to build better fundamentals. Your weekend wasn't wasted, it was a forced skill drill. Expensive, but maybe useful.
