My sourdough starter turned into a science project overnight

I was trying to revive my starter after a month in the fridge, and I left it on the counter in my warm kitchen. When I checked it this morning, it had completely overflowed the jar and was dripping down the cabinet. I spent 20 minutes cleaning up the sticky mess. Has anyone else had their starter get way too active after a long rest?

My starter did that once, left a dried crust on the ceiling. Guess it was just happy to be out of the fridge.

Check the ceiling like @palmer.richard said... that stuff gets everywhere.
