Vent: That time a local brewery in Asheville posted a truly awful tweet last month

They tried to joke about a serious news event, got absolutely roasted for 48 hours, and their 'apology' was just a link to a new beer release. Has anyone seen a brand try to fix a mess by just selling something?

That apology-beer link was a new low. Saw a car company try something similar after a recall, just sent a coupon. It's like they forget people want them to own the mistake, not run a sale. Makes the whole brand feel cheap and out of touch. Hard to come back from that.

Honestly, I see it a bit different. Sometimes a coupon or a freebie is the only real action a company can take, you know? It's a way to make up for the hassle without just saying empty words. In my view, the problem starts when that's ALL they do, like it fixes everything. The apology has to come first and feel real, then the beer or the discount doesn't seem so cheap.

Actually, that brewery mess was two months ago, not last month. They posted that tweet in early April. The apology-beer link thing was so bad it made the local news. It's wild how a company can read the room that wrong. Trying to sell your way out of trouble just makes people more angry.
