Spent $60 on a meal prep Sunday and it saved me $200 on takeout by Thursday

Three hours of cooking chicken and rice on Sunday cut my lazy dinner trips to zero, has anyone else found the sweet spot between prep time and actual savings?

Did you actually save $200 or are you just guessing? I meal prep too but the savings never add up that cleanly when you factor in the groceries you already had or the leftovers you toss.

Forget the leftovers, what about the time cost of washing all those meal prep containers every single night.

Leftovers you toss" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, Patricia. People always act like meal prep is this magic money printer but they ignore the sad Tupperware of last week's quinoa that's basically a science experiment now. I track my spending pretty close and honestly most of the "savings" disappear into the black hole of ingredients you bought for one recipe and never touched again. It's not that serious though, if someone wants to believe they saved $200 let them have their little spreadsheet victory.
