Pushed past 500 horsepower on my 2018 3.5L Ecoboost last weekend
I finally got my truck to the dyno after adding a Garrett Powermax turbo and a custom tune from a shop near me. It hit 512 horsepower at 4,800 rpm which blew my mind considering it's still on pump gas. Anyone else hold their breath waiting for dyno numbers to come through?

Hold your breath? Man, I was more worried about that motor going kaboom. 512 on pump gas with a 3.5 Ecoboost... you're basically running it right at the edge of what the factory block and rods can take. I've seen a few guys grenade their 3.5s at 480-500 wheel because of detonation or a weak rod bolt, and it's not a cheap fix. Also, a lot of those dyno numbers from small shops are on "happy" dynos that read 10-15% high, so I'd take it to a known independent dyno to see the real number. But hey, if you're okay with possibly buying a new short block in 5,000 miles, more power to you.

Dude that's awesome, I totally get it - I was sweating bullets when my buddy's Focus RS hit the dyno last month.
