Tried a cold air intake vs a drop-in filter on my 2018 5.0

Put a Roush cold air on mine and my buddy kept his stock box with a K&N drop-in. At the track my truck was 0.3 seconds faster in the quarter mile but his was way cheaper and easier to clean. Anyone else see that big a difference or was it just my setup?

But 0.3 seconds is within normal run to run variation for that truck.

Oh absolutely, I've been there too. I spent like six months chasing a 0.2 second improvement on a Mustang I was tuning and my buddy kept telling me it was just normal variation. Drove me nuts because I could feel the car was a tiny bit slower on those runs but the numbers just wouldn't show it. Finally got it sorted out when I realized the intake was heat soaking after back-to-back pulls. It's wild how much of a difference even a few tenths can make in the real world, but yeah, on paper it looks like noise.

Hey man, I've been there. It's frustrating when the numbers barely move.
