Honestly I used to be so impatient with stuff like that. I'd skip steps if I thought I could get away with it, you know? Like changing my car's oil but not replacing the filter to save ten minutes. Then my engine started making this awful noise a month later. Cost me way more time and money to fix than if I'd just done it right the first time. That one mechanic visit basically rewired my brain on following the steps.
